Here's looking at you, Miami. Join your colleagues for a trip back in time to an era of glamour and panache as you walk through the Art Deco District. Ocean Drive is home to three styles of architecture: art deco, Mediterranean revival, and MIMO (Miami modern). Many of the local hotels are evocative of these styles and tell stories of days gone but not forgotten. Hear stories about the passionate people who worked to restore and preserve these local gems.

Tour Description:

Miami Beach's renowned Art Deco District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Learn how Barbara Baer Capitman, who has been called the district's creator, won the fight to protect these 1930s treasures against deep-pocket developers with political ties. This walking tour includes many stops, so wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat, plenty of sunscreen—and don't forget the bottled water. Families with kids and strollers are welcome.
