Service Projects

Give back during the 2013 Family Philanthropy Conference by participating in these exciting service projects:

• As the old saying goes, reading is fundamental. Encourage reading by donating books to the Bill Wilson Center (books for teens or basic reference books) or InnVision Shelter Network (books for children of all ages as well as adults). Please drop off your books at the Council booth in Family Central.

• Donate brand-new shoes, calculators, or crayons through the My New Red Shoes project. You can also make a student's first day of school memorable by creating a unique First Day Card. Visit booth 108 in Family Central to drop off your items and create a card. The card-making schedule will be posted on-site.

  Shoe Donation Guidelines:

  • Shoes must be brand NEW!
  • Shoes must be "school appropriate sneakers" (i.e. rubber soles, with laces or velcro).
  • SIZES: Girl's shoes accepted: youth 9 - women's 12 - Boy's shoes accepted: youth 9 - men's 16.
  • Please DO NOT donate open-toed, sandals, flip flops, ballet flats, dress shoes or boots.
  • Solid Black and/or white shoes work best. Colors and patterns are fine but we strongly discourage donations of blue or red shoes due to color restrictions at some schools.
  • Please remove the price tag.
