Today's family foundations are part of a constantly changing world. Some changes are caused by transitions within a community, while others are necessitated by trustee or staff turnover. Each transition presents an opportunity to engage in new thinking and examine fresh approaches to increase a family's ability to effect positive change in the world. As a follow-up to the CEO Workshop, this preconference session aims to equip all leaders in family giving-staff, trustees, and their professional advisers-with an understanding of the most likely transitions encountered in family foundations, and the important considerations in managing through those transitions. With this shared framework in hand, attendees will workshop their own stories of transition through peer-consulting groups and explore solutions.
